Exercise Physiologist and Strength & Conditioning Specialist

Maggie continues to work with the Canadian para-alpine ski team as well as the Canadian Halfpipe team as a physiotherapist and strength & conditioning coach. She specializes in blending her experience as a physiotherapist with her Strength & conditioning background when making assessment and treatment programs for each individual. Strength & conditioning sessions occur mainly at Challenge by Choice gym in Squamish, BC.

Functional Movement Screen (FMS)
& Selected Functional Movement Assessment  (SFMA)

Through a series of movements, these screens allow Maggie to identify strengths & weakness, as well as mobile or unstable areas within the body. After this analysis, one can learn to move with better biomechanics and efficiencies, while avoiding injury and performing at one’s potential. This is the same series of screening tests used with provincial and National level athletes that Maggie often tests. Typically, the 30-45min assessment results in a series of Corrective exercises that can be used to complement a current strength & conditioning program or could be used to create a new program.

Individualized Strength and Conditioning Program

The individualized Strength and Conditioning program was created to meet your goals, whether those goals are for sport, recreation, or general health. Maggie will meet you at Challenge By Choice Gym (or the gym of your choice) to go over your program which is individualized according to your needs as determined by the screen. You will receive your program complete with photos and cues.

Injury Prevention Movement Group Classes

The injury prevention movement classes are an 8-week intensive program. This including an assessment and 16 classes in a group setting (5 person max) in which clients will rehab injuries (in particular ACL or knee injuries) in a graduated format with a goal of returning to 100% function for sport or play. These classes will take place at Challenge By Choice Gym gym. Contact Maggie if interested and dates will be set according to interest.

Strength & Conditioning Packages

The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) & Selected Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and the Strength & Individualized Strength & Conditioning Program can be combined as a package.
